Núremberg
Nuremberg, located in Bavaria on the Pegnitz River, is the economic and cultural capital of Franconia. Home to over 518,000 people, it is the second-largest city in the region. Historically significant, it was a free imperial city and one of the largest trade centers in medieval Europe. Rebuilt after the destruction of World War II, it attracts tourists with its imperial castle and Gothic churches. Spring or summer is the best time to visit, when temperatures are mild.
